The High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) of the University of Stuttgart provides industry as well as researchers from Germany and Europe with leading supercomputer technology. Professional services are provided by hkz-bw and HWW GmbH in cooperation with scientific and industrial partners (T-Systems T-Systems SFR GmbH and Porsche AG). In cooperation with partners from research and industry the HLRS performs basic research and applied research in HPC for European, national and industrial projects.
In the 21st century simulation technologies have become indispensable, they permeate all facets of our lives. The excellent research on this innovative field was honoured and promoted by the award through the Stuttgart Cluster „Simulation Technology“ of the Seal of Excellence from the joint commission for the Federal and State Initiative of Excellence, comprised of the Technical Commission of the German Research Association (DFG) and the Strategic Commission of the Science Council.
