From Prevention to Protection:
Integrated Active & Passive Safety

10 February 2026 | 2 p.m. CET | online

The simulation of passive safety scenarios in the automotive industry, such as various crash and occupant load cases, has now reached a remarkable level of predictive accuracy. The possibilities for understanding, predicting, and influencing driving conditions in the area of active safety have also developed significantly in recent years and are now indispensable in modern vehicles. Therefore, the question arises whether and how these two domains can be integrated into a common simulation environment to increase the benefits for occupants by further reducing the risk of injury. This simpulse webinar presents current simulation possibilities for active safety in accident prevention, as well as the latest developments in crashworthiness modeling for occupant protection and injury reduction. Furthermore, ideas and examples for the potential integration of data from both areas will be explained, which will eventually raise vehicle safety to a new level.

Pierre VINCENT is a Director of Application Engineering at Ansys. He leads a global team of field engineers supporting Ansys customers in their adoption and deployment of Ansys Design and Simulation Solutions for Safety, Embedded Software and Autonomy.

Pierre has 25+ years of engineering experience working in different domains such as ADAS and AV domain but also Model Based Development (MBD), Model Based System Engineering and Software Certification. He occupied several positions at Ansys and Esterel-Technologies. He has a master’s degree in computer sciences from ENSEEIHT and a master’s degree in Physics of Solids from the University of Sciences of Toulouse.

Dr. Haufe studied engineering with a focus on structural mechanics, statics, and dynamics at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, and as a scholar of the German Academic Exchange Service at the University of Calgary, Canada. After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Stuttgart, he was awarded a DAAD post-doctoral scholarship for the University of Calgary before he joined DYNAmore. There he led the process simulation / MCC department as well as all major R&D activities when DYNAmore was acquired by Ansys. Since January 2024 he has been acting as Director Application Engineering for DYNAmore/Ansys/Synopsys and manages the LS-DYNA Method Development and Homologation group.

His professional interest is focused on material, damage and fracture models of steel, alloys and plastics/composites as well as modelling of fasteners. Furthermore, he is using his expertise in processes of Certification by Analysis and Homologation to help reduce time-to-market in product development.
